With 1 Samuel 16:7, we continue our survey of Bible books. The book of 1 Samuel traces the lives of Hannah, Samuel, Saul, and David, meeting the last judge (Samuel) and the first two kings: Saul (the people’s king) and David (God’s King). Pastor Paul van Engelenhoven preaches Israel’s failure to serve the Lord, the king after man’s heart, the king after God’s heart, and the continued battle between the two seeds.
“But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.’”
