The Book of Ephesians (42): The Lovely Wife

In Ephesians 5:22-24, the Apostle Paul instructs wives and husbands to model their relationship after Christ and his church. Listen as Pastor Paul van Engelenhoven describes the divine hierarchy of marriage, the meaning and purpose of submission, and growth in loveliness. “Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.” (Col. 3:18)

I Love You, O LORD, My Strength

Psalm 18:1-50 expresses David’s trust in the Lord: his help, his refuge, and his salvation! Mr. Eduardo Martorano presents David’s opening praise, God’s protection and loyalty, experiencing protection, and the closing praise. “This God—his way is perfect; the word of the Lord proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.”

Our Sufficiency Is of God

In 2 Corinthians 3:1-6; 4:5-11, the apostle Paul deflects praise away from himself to give all glory to God. Dr. Gerald Bilkes reminds us to look to the Lord with expectation, to look at what really matters, to look away from man, and to look upward to the Lord. “Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God.”
