Contend for the Faith
With Jude 1:1-25, we continue our study of Bible books. Jude wrote this letter to warn the church against impostors who had entered the church and to remind them to defend the faith. Pastor Paul van Engelenhoven preaches watch out for perverters of the grace of God and remember the prophecies about the last days.
Faith in God
In Hebrews 11:1-40, the preacher explains how faith has always been the identifying mark of God’s people. Pastor Paul van Engelenhoven preaches the definition of faith, the examples of faith in the old covenant, and the promise of faith in the new covenant.
The Challenge of Christian Leadership: Love and Opposition
With 3 John, we continue our study of Bible books. John’s third letter encourages the early church in Christian living. Pastor Paul van Engelenhoven preaches showing hospitality, dealing with criticism, and imitating the good.
Complete in Christ
In Colossians 2:10–15, the apostle Paul teaches believers they are complete in Christ, their sins are forgiven, and they share in Christ’s victory on the cross. Mr. Martijn Heijboer preaches believers are united with Christ in death and resurrection and they are freed and victorious through the cross.
The Blessings of the Ascended Lord
Luke 24:36–53 describes the scene when Jesus ascends to heaven to be seated at the right hand of the Father. Pastor Paul van Engelenhoven preaches the peace of God, the understanding of the Scriptures, the power of the resurrection, and the blessing of the Lord.
2 John: Truth and Love
With 2 John, we continue our study of Bible books. John’s second letter instructs the church to walk faithfully in both truth and love. Pastor Paul van Engelenhoven preaches the gospel truth that leads to love, Christlike love that leads to truth, and the satanic trick of separating love and truth.
The New Covenant: Enter the Presence of God with Assurance of Faith
In Hebrews 9:1-28 and Hebrews 10:1-39, the preacher contrasts the old covenant and the much superior New Covenant. Pastor Paul van Engelenhoven preaches the old covenant of distance between God and His people and the new covenant of dwelling in the presence of God with full assurance.
Confessing God
With Romans 1:18–25, we begin a series on the truths of the Belgic Confession, one of the three forms of unity held dear by many reformed churches. Mr. Martijn Heijboer preaches God made known and rejected, what we confess about God, and why we must confess Him rightly.
The Reality of a Better Covenant
In Hebrews 8:1-13, the preacher contrasts the Old Testament temple, priesthood, and covenant with the priesthood of Christ and His new covenant. Pastor Paul van Engelenhoven preaches the usefulness and powerlessness of the old covenant and the power of the new covenant.
