Our motto text for 2023 comes from Joshua 24:14–15, where Joshua declares that Israel may do what it will, but for him and his family they will serve Yahweh. Pastor Paul van Engelenhoven uses this passage to emphasize our need for elders and deacons with bold faith to follow God during a time in which there is much temptation to conform to the world.
“Choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
